COVID-19 UPDATES

March 27,2020

Dear Church Family,

I want to share another update regarding worship and activities at First Baptist – Lufkin.  As previously announced, we will not meet for corporate worship this Sunday, March 29. With sadness but knowing it is the moral, ethical and just thing to do, we must go ahead and cancel worship and all activities for the next two weeks, which of course includes Palm Sunday, Holy Week special activities and Easter Sunday.  All church activities including Worship, Bible Study, Wee Care, FLC, and meetings are cancelled through Wednesday April 15. The church offices will remain closed for the most part as well.  Some ministerial and support staff are in the office each day and all others are working from home.

I hope you will join our church community as we worship online on Facebook or Vimeo live streaming at 10:30 the next three Sunday mornings.  We will also be providing special Holy Week worship on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.  More information will be forth coming. Remember you do not need a Facebook or Vimeo account to watch the live streaming.  Please check for web site, www.fbclufkin.org for more information concerning live streaming and all other updates.

During these challenging times the church staff has been so faithful and busy.  I have never worked with such an incredible staff so committed to their individual call and to the local church.  Not only is the staff busy connecting to the church family but our Deacons, Sunday school teachers, and many of you I’m not even aware of are daily making contacts with each other.

Thank you for your faithfulness in sending in your tithes and offerings.  Tithes and offerings may be mailed to the church office or given online.  You have been so generous already in these uncertain days.

Let us all continue to pray and share the hope we have in Christ with friends and family around you.  The world is looking at us and seeing the church in all her beauty.  We have known the church is not brick and mortar, but during these days the opportunity to BE the CHURCH to those around us has been so powerful.  We will be together again soon in worship and fellowship.  Won’t it be a joyful and glorious day!

So very proud to be your pastor,

Pastor Mark
